His novel Tight Five is a roman a clef about his years in the Boston & San Francisco comedy scenes of the 1980s. His popular Eternal Vern series chronicles an ageless man who survives over 200 years of American history. His first novel, published in 2001, was historical fiction about the second men to travel across the US by automobile. Dan's writing incorporates adventure, sci fi, romance, history, and defies simple categorization. Just like his eclectic real life.

Dan has been an actor, a standup comedian, a novelist, a hi tech employee, a film production company analyst, an improv performer, and a personal assistant.

His recurring series, The Peculiar Truth, focuses on unusual historical facts and is published weekly.
