The Peculiar Truth about the Girl in the Polka Dot Dress

  • June 4, 1968: While campaigning to become the Democratic nominee for President of the United States, Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated.
  • The crime took place in the kitchen of the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles. (That hotel is now long gone.)
  • The shooter, Sirhan Sirhan, an American whose family was from the Middle East, was immediately subdued.
  • In media interviews that took place within hours after the assassination, eyewitnesses said they saw a girl in a polka dot dress in the kitchen next to the gunman.
  • She was later seen running down a fire escape and said, “We did it! We killed Kennedy!”
  • Los Angeles police claimed to be on the lookout for the mysterious young woman. But their investigation into the girl was far from thorough.
  • Local newspapers ran with the story.
  • The next day, a gentleman gave the authorities information that might have pertained to the girl in the polka dot dress.
  • He claimed that he met a young woman on the morning of June 4, many hours before the assassination, in the hotel’s coffee shop. The young lady insinuated there would be an attempt on RFK’s life that evening.
  • The gentleman told authorities that she fit newspaper descriptions of the girl in the polka dot dress.
  • She also told the gentleman she might travel north to San Jose, CA to visit the headquarters of the Rosicrucians.
  • Some blame the Los Angeles Police Department for dropping the ball on finding the mystery woman.
  • The girl in the polka dot dress was never found or identified, despite decades of investigations by independent journalists.
  • Regarding the Rosicrucians: They are a secular order of mystics “who study and practice the Natural Laws governing the Universe.”
  • They’re not a religion per se. They’re an obscure and secretive spiritual organization.
  • Their headquarters is in the heart of the city of San Jose. Yet the Rosicrucians had always maintained small meeting groups in major cities around the world.
  • Including in Pasadena, CA.
  • Where Sirhan Sirhan lived.
  • The assassin had attended meetings of the Rosicrucians.
